I don't know if it's just me but it seems this way. Don't get me wrong..... I have no problem with people voicing their opinions on these things but I know the media has a big influence on people watching. Wouldn't it be better if ALL the facts were given instead of just opinions, so people would be educated enough to form their own opinions?

What does everyone think about this?

I agree with you 100%. But it will never happen because the politics won't allow it. If you are liberal, and you own a newspaper or news station, you will only here what they want you to hear. And it is visa versa on the other side.

And in the case of the New York Times... they even leaked/reported on a program that our government was using to track terrorist. That is way beyond the line of responsibility, it is treasonous.

The greatest bias of the media is that it's a business. Their objective is the same as most other businesses; make money. If reporting on the most vital news, honestly and objectively became the most lucrative way for them to conduct business, they would do so. Anyone who believes that there is some great conspiracy to slant the media one way or the other for some reason other than increasing market share, is either paranoid or just dreaming. "Follow the money". Good advice for getting to the bottom of things.

i think the idea that one person or group could tell you all the facts that you need is a little idealistic.

the media is and always has been biased because it is run by people who have their own ideas about the way the world should work. even if one of them thought he had all the facts, your own beliefs may convince you that he has missed something... so it may not be intentional one-sidedness that makes you observe someone else's biases.

the truth is, unless you witness something yourself, you should be very careful about believing that a single source is being as honest as possible with you. even if they believe they are fair and balanced, you won't know what they aren't telling you unless you do your own research. and on the internet, you must be careful to make sure what you read is true... it's just going to get muddier now that we can make our own propaganda.

It would, but the media is about telling people their opinions - not helping them form their own.

What planet to you live on. Of course the media is biased. Each individual is biased to one degree or another. You've got those on the left and then there's folks on the right.

Yes, why do they hate the President? They don't show him any respect. He is the chosen leader of our country and he should be shown respect even if the media (NYPost) doesn't like his decisions. Don't forget we elected him and he has many advisors helping him.
