Yes, they have had the medical pill Marinol around for quite some time. It is synthetic THC. Meaning it was manufactured in a lab, not a plant.

One speculation for the reason that this THC pill does not work as effectively is because marijuana contains hundreds of compounds, many cannabis. The idea is that THC may be the main psychoactive ingredient, but may not be responsible for all of the effects of marijuana.

I recall reading a research paper on some of the cannabis found in marijuana and some showed promise for cancer treatment and others showed neuro-protective qualities. Which means they may prevent brain cell deterioration/death.

But essentially, THC has already been put into a pill called marinol.

Funny, Marinol is schedule two, Cocaine is Schedule two, Methamphetamine is schedule two. But Marijuana is schedule one, go figure that out.

Yes, in fact there has been reams of articles written about medical marijuana for many different chronic (pardon the pun) conditions. Most patients I see prefer the results they experience from smoking versus the pill. Hopefully, someday all states will have laws that permit the medical benefits of this substance.

yes there is and has been around for quite a while. But I had heard that the pill form doesn't work as well as smoking it. I presume its the whole inhaling part of it and getting it into your system faster via the smoke.
