I just heard W's speech at the naacp, he hit at the heart of the problems and unlike demorats who treat blacks as children who will behave nicely if given things, He spoke to equals instead of inferior people, the silence from the demorats is deafing.

I think the blacks can speak for themselves. I just love it when the conservative republicans talk about how the Democrats speak to the blacks as children. I believe black people can decide for themselves who is speaking to them as children and who is not. Their voting patterns over the years speaks for them, not some conservative Republican. Oh yea, I see George W. Bush speaks to the NAACP just when there are going to be mid-term elections. How nice to ignore people for 6 years then all of a sudden take an interest in them.

Right, but that won't change their minds. You'll see clips on the nightly news criticizing him for not doing more. For some reason, it doesn't bother the majority of them to be talked to by the dems as children and still vote their way. Isn't that what the dems were doing when they kept them as slaves, initiated Jim Crow, and stood in the doorway of schools shouting, "Segregation now. Segregation tomorrow. Segregation forever!"?

It is nice that he talked to them as equals. It would be nicer if he treated them as equals. As for the democrats -- perhaps you could give some examples of when Clinton treated them like children.

You have got to be kidding. It's a little late, don't you think? You think African Americans are stupid? Of course there is silence from the Democrats. They are too busy covering their mouths to keep from laughing. They don't really need to say anything. Bush is hanging himself.
