The only thing to do is to do it over and over again until it's nothing anymore. But one of your answerers was correct: DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THEM. You can look out at the crowd without looking at them. Nothing is more discouraging than someone looking back at you unamused, when most of the time that's just how they look and it's no real reflection on you at all. Don't waste your time practicing in front of friends/family - it won't help.

I have the same problem. And what I found out is that repetition is the best cure. You just have to get used to it. It's hard, but what you should do is get infront of an audiance as often as you can. You will eventually get used to it. I'm still not 100% used to being infront of a crowd, but during a Psychology class I was taking, we had a session called Circle Time every week. I was terrified when it was my turn... but over time it more and more comfortable. Taking that acting/drama class should really help you out! I hope you can overcome your fear.. it really can be a pain. :D

Also, if it's a really really large crowd, here's a little trick I've heard of: Look directly down the center rows and stare at the wall or the door behind the crowd. You'll look like your starting into the center of the crowd, but you're really just staring at the back. Itall keep you from seeing all those eyes on you, and hopefully make you more at ease. Good luck girl! I'm rootin' for you. :P

properly i comprehend i won't be able to calm myself earlier a performance. I under no circumstances experience calm. i don't think of all and sundry does fairly. What I do to ease pressure earlier a performance is act as if i'm an significant man or woman higher than i'm. which incorporates a celeb or a movie celeb. I act as if I belong there and folk have got here to work out me. that continually seems to do the trick.

Because when your in front it gives you power over who is watching, that and the fact you can be anyone you want to be there and not have to worry about what people think! You have a captive audience that you have the power to keep entranced.

Try to imagine that you are a very famous singer, and a lot of interviews, or audiences are taking you pictures. Try to smile big, and feel proud about that.

Focus on just "one" person in the audience and block everything else out until you become more comfortable.

Rehearse relentlessly. Take a deep breath. Remember we were all created equal. Do the best you can with what you've got. Nobody can expect anything more.

Anything that feels uncomfortable, do it often, and the discomfort will gradually go away.
Or try hypnosis
