The two toliets upstairs have stopped up. One stopped up and I plunged it with no luck. I went to the store to get some Drano and the other toliet stopped up when it was used next. At this point I have tried 3 different liquid clog busters. None have had any effect. I removed both toliets and ran a 20 foot auger down both drain lines.
Water still stands in both. I tried some more clog remover and it still won't help.
No other drains are stopped up.
Anybody have any suggestions before I call a plumber?

When the toliet was removed it had standing water. This water goes down over time.
My ladder isn't long enough to get on the roof to check the vents. Might be the next course of action.
Local plumbers all want 200 or more dollars to even consider lookng at it.
The other upstairs toliet, the one that stopped up the next day now works.
However if you put water in the pipe to see if it will flush on out that line, the other toliet will not work until that water has drained. This makes it seem like a vent problem.

First you need to know exactly where the blockage is. When you pulled the toilet was the closet bend(pipe coming up) full of water? If you run a shower or faucet does it gurgle in the toilet? If so it is a blockage in the sewer line and you will need a longer sewer cable than 20ft. If it is in the toilet you will need a 6' closet auger to remove the blockage. Be careful not to get the chemicals you put in there in your eyes or on your skin. These chemicals are highly overrated and rarely work. If you get a plumber that gives free estimates he will diagnose it for you saving you a lot of wasted time on trying so many different things.

You need longer auger, you did not reach the clog, never plunge, it compresses the material. Plunger is also a suckution cup, if use right it sucks the material loose and allows it to pass through. Now try longer auger that is the only thing to do.

Other things are not clogged, thank your stars, they are on independent line. But there is only one large line going out, make sure you do not push the clog and clog up whole thing, take it slow with the auger and do not force/push use it to break up the clog, loosen it so it flows out. When you sense the clog on the auger, slightly pull back and re advance this should break up the clog.

Most compound tell you not to use them in toilet, they may damage the wax seals.

this is a tough one, but if u did all that sounds like u have a major clog much further than 20 ft. ..........my plumber had to use a motorized snake, auger, and ran it about 40 ft in mine..2 story house also.....it did the trick! good luck.......
