We used to say he was the president who put this country deeper in debt than any other president in the history of the USA
His trickle down economics simply didnt work and was replaced by a democrat. The rich got richer and the poor got poorer.
Until by the end of his term everyone got poorer.
Can't say that anymore, bush passed him up for largest debt long time ago.

Reagan: Hero. One of the greatest Presidents in history, and the greatest of my (and probably your) lifetime. He was nominated as the Presidential candidate because of his work in California as governor, not his work in Hollywood as an actor. His defeat of Mondale was a landslide on the scale which may never be seen again.
Schwarzneggar: While not a politician before, he would never have had the chance to run if the previous governor had not been so incompetent to provoke a recall election. A perfect example of people so desperate for quality government that they shun both the Republicans and the Democrats for something (anything) different. (I know, technically, he's a republican)
Swann: Aren't you forgetting other actors turned politicians: Sonny Bono(R), Clint Eastwood(R), Ben "Cooter" Jones(D), Jesse Ventura(Reform)? Oh, wait, that's too many to think about.

Reagen was integral in the fall of the Berlin wall. he did not do it alone and a large part of what brought about a change in Russia was not directly rrelated to Reagan and his actions. however what he did and what he represented were still an important part. Also i do not think many actors could come up witht eh concept of reaganomics and build a strong economy.

+He was definitly an actor who fooled the people. If he would have been a real Commander-in-chief he wouldn't have ran when we got bombed in Lebanon back in 1983 and we would have nipped the terrorist in the bud back then. Most likely if he wasn't such an actor and more the Commander-in-chief of the greatest military power in the world back then , the world would be a much safer place today.

Are we having a little hissy fit? Don't like that Reagan did so well so he couldn't have done it on his own, right? Because republicans are so dumb? I suppose you are unaware that Reagan started out as a...c'mon, you can get it.....that's it....DEMOCRAT! Then he came to his senses. I guess Lynn Swann would be acceptable if he were a democrat, right? Sounds a little racist to me.

Reagan was originally a Democrat. However, he got sick of their lies and thievery and became a conservative. He realized early on there is no such thing as a free lunch. Everybody pays one way or another.

Yes, they were recruited. Ike too.
When TV was invented , it was necessary to have the president be an actor too.

Wouldn't suprise me. Personally, I think celebrities should stay out of politics, and that goes for both sides.
