I hear local camera shops (not Best Buy type stores that sell Cameras, but stores that specialize in them) advertising all the time that if you buy a camera from them they'll give you a free introductory photography class. The Rebel is a great series, and I think you've made a good choice there, so try going to your local camera store and see what kind of deals they have. Even if they don't provide free lessons, odds are they can point you to a local community college, club, or professional where you can take a class or two. For quality large prints, again, start at the camera store. If they don't do their own in house prints, they can recommend you to a good location that can.

i would strongly get a book on basic photography to see what you like. then maybe get specailized with books on black and white or macro lenses.
i have the last model of Canon Digital Rebel EOS and its awesome! i can do just about anything on it i want! the flash is a little weak, ok a lot weak, but that's the worst thing i have come up with. oh and it doesn't have any settings to save what you've set it at (like if you're at a sports gave and always want a faster shutter speed and whatever).
and i use ofoto to show other people my pics and use canon's pixma printer to print my pics at home.
if you have specific questions, please feel free to email me.

Buy the camera and take a class on photography. Your local art schools, colleges or community centers will have them.

I purchased a Canon Digital REbel XT in late December and it is worth it - you will love it. Beautiful pictures. I did get the battery pack to go with it as the camera is a little on the small side but with the battery pack it seems to be the perfect size.
Try www.photo.net its a great place to get answers and ask questions and get ideas for photos.
