I had heard it was going to be Keith Richards not Jagger. Richards was to be the father of the pirate dude (sparrow?) I had heard that Sparrow's character takes some characteristics from Richards.

I don't know anything about a sitcom, but it isn't Mick Jagger that's going to be in Pirates 3, it's Keith Richards. The reason he's going to be in it is because that is who Johnny Depp modeled his character after (watch him sometime, you will totally see it). So, figure out what the heck you are saying before you speak out.

When you got more wealth to take care of several lifetimes, daily life can get boring. I mean: you can only go so far doing much little of anything positive. And at Mick's age, world concert touring can be gruesomely demanding physically.....it's best to slow down things a tad.
So why not take on a small cameo role in a popular movie sequel....spend some routine time doing a tv series?
Mick may be mega-popular and mega-rich....but he's still a human being, much like us all.

I don't think any of the stones need more fame or fortune.the bands of today should hope to have 1tenth of a career.although it is the gutairist that is playing the pirates dad.
