Because they sponsor terroists. Is this not evident? If Israel stopped today, they would be attacked again by Hamas and Hezbullah terroists, Iran and Syria want to destroy Israel who countless times has had to defend theselves from these crazed Islamic Fascist hell bent on Israels destruction. Israel would rather live in peace. but they will not allow it. This is not a double standard at all. They are trying to defeat the cancer of the world and a big threat to mankind all over the world. How can we make the picture any clearer for you to see?

In order for it to be double standards, Hezbullah would have to be a sovereign government, which they are not.

Hezbullah is the result of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon by Israel in response to a perceived threat of attack. It began as a resistance movement to expel occupying forces. When Israel unilaterally withdrew from Lebanon in 2000, Hezbullah ceased having a valid reason for continuing military agression in the region. Their political and social services wings could have continued independently of their militant operation.

The reason it's wrong for Syria and Iran to support Hezbullah is that each of these countries do so in the hopes of ultimately destroying the state of Israel. Neither acknowledges Israel's right to exist, and so their military support of Hezbullah is a way of influencing Israel's future without direct military confrontation.

While I don't necessarily agree with the scope of Israel's retaliation against Hezbullah and the Lebanese, let us not forget that Israel was not occupying any territory in Lebanon, and that until Hezbullah decided to invade Israel, kill and kidnap their defense forces for prisoner swaps, Israel was content with only defending herself.

Look at who pays the price for the ignorance of these rogue oraganizations. It's the people they are supposedly trying to protect / liberate. Hezbullah uses the cover of civilan assets to launch attacks, knowing full well that should Israel retaliate, that collateral damage and civilian losses will be high.

Make no mistake, there is little comparison between our sharing of military technology with Israel for self defense, and Iran and Syria's sponsorship of Hezbullah for acts of agression.

You are right. It is a double standard. Most people in America seem to have been brainwashed into thinking all Arabs are bad people. Therefore, everything they do, is bad. In reality the terrorist nation of Israel is the ultimate bad guy. Anyone can do some research and find that Israel was built on terrorism of the Zionist movement. Dates back to the late 1890's. But it is much easier to be ignorant I guess.

Getting back to your question, we (the US) sponsor Israel because most of our government is controlled by Israel and people faithful to the Zionist regime. No, it is not right, but it is a fact.

I hope Iran and Syria and all of the other nations step up to bat and help their neighbors fight the terrorist Israel.

Let's see Hezbullah, Iran and Syria would take over the world if they could. Israel is trying to defend itself. It's not apples to apples. But you are too filled with blind prejudice to listen to reason anyway. (And yes, I know I spelled Hezbullah wrong!)

USA doesn't "sponsor" israel, the two have been pretty much bound since israel was founded in 1948. it was a state made by zionists as a refuge for jews, and it happened to be on the the land that palestinians had already occupied. exactly who should have the land is controversial, but we do know that muslims states harbor and "sponsor" terrorists and it is the US's job to take care of them.

Is because their believes are in a different twist. They believe the more people they sacrifice the world will become a better place. Our believes is that no innocent people should die. Every day the population grows, and our generation is killing this world slowly. So by their believes they will do what they have to do to survive and make the world in a better place. As for us all we are saying is "Can't we all get along." But we can't because we all have our own opinion and there is where the conflict begins.

Yes, we are only hearing the news coming from the Western world. But, actually, this is the sentiment of those people caught in the chaos of the war in Lebanon and the rest of the middle east (excluding Israel).

of course!

by the same token what right does a nation with nuclear weapons has to tell others they can't develop their own. Or missiles for that matter...

Don't get me wrong I'm not against the US, I hope N. Korea gets stoped ditto for Iran BUT that doesn't mean the US has the right to do it. It's simply that I rather have the US bullying the world than Iran.
