It really was. I only wish the younger generation knew.

So many musical styles erupted out of the sub-culture into the mainstream during the 80s. The 80s was the music decade (and not that crap you hear on the 80s stations) when most music styles either emerged or matured.

The women were the most beautiful ever and a lot more fun. Nowhere near as obnoxious as many women today.

And, there were parties everywhere, out in the open with hundreds of people raising hell. People in bad-*** tricked out high powered sports cars (unlike the very gay 'Fast and Furious' crap).

I was very young in the 80s but I remember it and I miss it. How about you?

The 80's to us early to mid 30's group is like the 60's was to the baby boomers.

It was a decade of change.

Microwaves, MTV, CD's...NONE of that existed before.

I still own 8 tracks, have BETA tapes and a BETA VCR, and my very first camcorder, which was BETA and only captured video, and not sound.

You also had to hook the camcorder directly to your TV to film things.

Yeah, it was a great generation. It was FREE and EXCITING.

From what I remember of the 80's, the bad fashion was appalling, sexism was still highly prevelant, Reagan was refusing to addres the AIDS crisis, women's hair reached critical mass (of course requiring tons of hair care products) and everyone was freaking out about Satanic cults.

Sorry, but it doesn't sound like that much fun for me. I have no interest in being a hood ornament clad in florescent orange and mega moose while being discriminated against for being gay and Wiccan.
