I find George an embarrassment.
Between his inability to speak the English language in a way that showcases his intelligence and not his ignorance, ("I was not pleased that Hamas has refused to announce its desire to destroy Israel."—Washington, D.C., May 4, 2006) to the lies he had laid upon the American public to achieve an agenda that is clerly in no one's best ineterest, to the terrible deficit that America now finds itself in, he has helped denigrate the prestige that helped America be held in high esteem.

Yes he is! Someone mentioned it earlier in more politically correct terminology, but the President comes across as mentally incompetent at best or a downright crooked con artist at worst.
Wouldn't that just embarass him, not the nation? Well, somehow the nation thought George W. Bush was the most competent man to lead the most powerful nation on earth.
It boggles the mind how wrong we were. This highlights the greatest flaw of democracy- when the politicans are evil, you have no chance against them.

No I am not embarrassed by the President. I don't agree with everything he does, but then that is my right. I paid the price the price of admission, I vote and I pay taxes in the United States. Frankly, I don't care how the world views George Bush, my answer to you would be attend to your own affairs of state and let Americans worry about the American president. Where I might give you a pass would be if we are currently at war with your country, then I could see how you might have an opinion relevant to the matter. America is a great country with a proud heritage, the people are among the most generous and tolerant in the world, but there is always a point where you push somebody to far.
amosunknown: I realize you prefaced your statement with you think, but the real embarrassment here is you. I am proud to be an American, and I am proud of the American people. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing, but when you use it as a crutch to denigrate your own people on the world stage you become irresponsible. Without responsibility there can be no freedom of any type. I for one would appreciate it if in the future when you wish to refer to embarrassments you would limit it to people you actually know personally, not entire groups who are completely unknown to you. No I am not trying to limit your freedom of speech, but wise people know how to use decorum when referring to others in their midst. It is a lesson you would be well served to learn.

Absolutely not. He's human just like anyone else. Just because he's president is he not suppose to be capable of making mistakes? I don't know why you think we should be embarrassed or what act he's suppose to have committed that would make us ashamed. I think everything he's done so far, he believes he's doing the right thing for the right reason. That may not alway turn out the way he thought it would. Maybe you're referring to the sh_t word he said? Turn on any movie on TV and you'll see language 10x's that bad. Just makes him a little more human in my book. He gets frustrated too. He's tried to bring peace to the middle east. It's not his fault that those people over there have been fighting religious wars for the last 2000 years and don't see any need to quit now. Am I suppose to be embarrassed that he wants those people to enjoy the same kind of freedoms that we've all enjoyed for years? Well sorry I'm not. I support him because I think he's trying to do the best he can.

Did you mean embarrassment? If so I will answer. If that is a different word that means something else then sorry for my wrong answer. No, at least not to me. But he is a thorn in the side of corrupt and totalitarian governments and terrorists, and you might as well throw in the U.N. It boggles my pea brain that no one ever talks about the "food for oil" scandal that the U.N. was clearly involved in along with France and others. And Kofie threw his son to the lions to save him self. lol But to open another line of thinking yes Bush is an embarrassment if you are a far left wing liberal who is ashamed of the U.S. being the most powerful nation on earth. And defending liberty and individual freedom with military force when all else has been tried and failed. And I will stand with him and be an embarrassment too. (Proud military guy)

In my opinion...no. First of all, the man is just an individual. He's a President, not royalty. In my opinion, he does not represent the country any more than any other single individual American, so there is no way for him to embarass the nation.
I also disagree with a lot of his policies, but I don't think he is an evil or stupid man. He has his own value systems and his own view of what America should do, and I have mine. I can argue against what he stands for, but I don't have to be embarassed by it.

Definitely, and the list is so long I'll just add two things to what others have said or will say.
1. Arrogance
2. The tax "reforms" that are taxing the Social Security of the elderly to give enormous refunds to the wealthiest Americans

No,i would not say an embarrassment, but a HUGE disppointment! The Senate and Bushs' plan on illegal immigration,is an INSULT to the American people! We are taxed to death already , and now he wants amnesty, which would allow the MILLIONS of illegals in this country, to be rewarded for their breaking our laws! The taxpayers bear the cost of these illegals!

You can't embarass a whole country - most of us didn't vote for him, just to start with. I'm not embarrased, just sick to my stomach every time I hear his voice or see his Chimpy McChimp smirking mug. But he's definitely an embarrassment to all the people who voted for him and who support him. Or it would be embarrassing if they had consciences and an ability to feel any responsibility or sense of what's right and what's wrong.
