That Deaborn, Sterling Heights and Detroit Michigan have the highest concentration of Arab Americans in the United States. There are approximately 8,000 shiite Muslims in the area and I can't even guess the number of Lebanese Americans.

A large chain of Middle Eastern restuarants is owned by a man who has 16 million dollars "MISSING" and ties to Hezballah. I live in the area and every other store or restuarant has the name "Lebanon" or "Beirut" in the name?

Am I overreacting to possible terrorism in my own back yard? I can't shake this feeling today and although I know it's not going to end soon, I am hoping for some kind of resolution.

I drove truck in and out of Detroit, and they seem to set up "towns" where they live, eat, shop together, and that is worrisome as it could give way to planing and they do support their home land not the land where they are residing. That is a generalization, I am sure that some if not most do owe some allegiance to this country. I am in Battle Creek, by the way.

No you are not overreacting. I am so happy I don't live in Detroit (Jackson area), was born and went to school in Detroit.
From what I understand, our government has been keeping an eye on the Muslims that live in the areas you listed.
Just be very watchfull, try to stay away from them. Of course, it is only a handfull of misguided idiots. Report anything suspicious. I sure would.

The Detroit area is perhaps the safest area in the United States to be in, in regards to terrorism. I mean, why would Islamic terrorists target communities where many fellow Muslims live? They'd risk killing many of their own.

Think about it...

There's a much more dangerous ethnic group in Detroit than Arabs. And they've done more damage to America's inner cities than the Luftwaffe could have ever hoped to accomplish.

I live near (and work in) Detroit.

I don't feel particularly nervous. I mean, if they haven't done anything since the Iraqi invasion, why would they now? We're not even attacking them. We don't condem Israel, but we're not blowing them up.

IF there was an attack, they'd lose any support they had, becuase we're not really leading this fighting.
