Do think they convince listeners to vote conservative or liberal, depending if they agree or disagree? You think most Americans (if they listened) would agree with the pundit?

Not particularly. If someone is willing to believe the crap that they spew out (and this goes for the crazy liberals too), they wouldn't have voted for the opposite party anyway (too far from the center to consider crossing). What effect they do have is mobilizing voters, but I think they piss off as many people as they energize, resulting in a net effect of a couple hundred votes or so (when millions are cast). They do change the tone of elections, though, as they make the extreme people much more visible than the moderates (of whom there are probably 5x more) -- thus (and for quite a few more reasons), you have candidates (especially Republicans) who run towards the edge of their party.

I know people that swear up and down that Rush is real, that his is the truth and are completely fooled by him. He is getting rich from being a big fat liar. I think that he doesn't convince anybody that doesn't want to be convinced, most people know him for what he is and that is an entertainer to the idiot population in this country. I personally boycott his sponsors of course I would vote democratic without him as I can think clearly and I see the repuglicans pandering to the very rich and the large corporations and leaving the poor and middle class behind to fend for themselves.

Only in this way - I believe the listeners fight the good fight for the pundits. The listeners are the front line ground troops for the Conservative Movement.

You don't have to always agree. It's good to get to hear the conservative viewpoint and then listen to the feedback. The overall outcome has definately have affected my ideals. Not always for the speaker sometimes the callers have differant views that change my perspective.

No more or less than campaign ads on TV, in print or on the internet. I like talk radio, it's a good way to keep the issues alive.
