He doesn't have to like everything you like. But, he doesn't have to rip your favorite show either. Just enjoy your show and music without him. If you wants to hang out with you, he'll have to suck it up.

Well, I think you have 2 choices. You can tape the show and watch it when he's not around or you can get a second TV so he can watch what he wants in another room.
My guy and I have option #2, but we tend to like the same type of shows and when we don't, he goes into the bedroom where our 2nd tv is.
As for the country music, I'm partial to Toby Keith and Tim McGraw. My guy likes Toby, but when we're out driving somewhere in my car, we listen to whatever I have playing on the CD player.

Couples are not supposed to be one person with the same tastes in everything. That would be so boring and you would never grow as people. I hate to watch the news, it depresses me...my husband is a news freak. When it comes on I do something else or watch another TV. You don't try to change each other you accept your differences and you'll be way ahead of the game.

Find another show that he finds tremendously obnoxious, like 10 times more than CSI - even if you don't necessarily enjoy watching it - bear with it. When he goes on about how much he hates it, say that you'll comprimise and watch CSI (which in comparison to the other show will seem far less annoying).

Your fiancee is taking this way out of proportion. If he doesn't like CSI then he shouldn't watch it. It's as plain and simple as that. And you shouldn't do anything about it not everyone has the same interests.

Depends who has mor opportunity to watch TV. If you get home before he does, or if he has something he likes doing on saturday mornings, whatever, just record and watch it then. If the situations are reversed, I'm sure HE can find something else to do.
I can't STAND reality TV and my wife LOVES it. I get home at night and have an hour or so before bed. My wife voluntarily stopped watching reality TV while I'm home so that I don't have to sit through it. She watches during the day instead.

The original CSI stinks, except for the recent Grissom performances. I only like David Caruso from "Miami" and "NY" is just horrible. Break off the engagement.

then you should find out what he likes maybe he does not like it because you are gushing over one of the guys on the show, or else you could compromise say i will watch a show i like then you can watch a show you like, that way it does not feel like you are running the whole show, like you cannot make any one listen to something if they dont want to because when you start doing that they tend to hate it even more, so maybe it should not be all about you, maybe you should be asking him what he likes and try to listen to it.

Watch reruns of 'Saved By the Bell' and listen to old Duran Duran casettes in stead of country music. There, now both problems are solved.

I think every relationship has it's differences. There are alot of things I like that my husband does not. We're finding more of them all the time (we're newlyweds). It's ok if I don't like what he likes and vice versa. We love eachother and accept eachother's differences. When it comes to TV I just watch my shows without him. I'll either tape them or just watch when he is not around. It seems to work for us. Good luck!
