sqrt(2x+1) + x = 8
Subtract x from each side
sqrt(2x+1) = 8 - x
Square each side
2x+1 = 64 - 16x + x^2
Move everything to the same side
x^2 - 18x + 63 = 0
Factor. What factors of 63 add to -18?
This doesn't factor, but there are solutions. Using the quadratic formula, you get
9 + 3sqrt(2) or 9 - 3sqrt(2)
With radical equations, you must check your answer each and every time.
If you check them, you will see that
9 - 3sqrt(2) is a solution.

if its 2x + 1 (under radical) + x = 8, then it breaks down:
x^2 + 2x - 63 =0
(x-7) (x+9)
x= 7 or -9

If its 2x+1 then the answer is:
x(2+x)=63
Here is the detail:
(√(2x+1))^2 + x^2 = 8^2 (you need to raise everything to the 2nd power so you can remove the square root.
2x + 1 + x^2 =64
2x+x^2=64-1
2x+x^2=63
x(2+x)=63

If I understood int right the way you wrote it here's your answer:
2x + x (under a radical) = 8 + 1
3x (under a radical) = 9
I don't know if that's a 2x or x squared 'cause the answer will be different...

i don't think of "radical 0.33 wave feminism" is a few thing it truly is reported in academia as a real phenomenon. a minimum of, i have under no circumstances heard of it. i can speculate about how a nil.33-wave feminist might want to take a nil.33-wave theory to an intensive end - like insisting that all and sundry women ought to gown as provocatively as attainable, with the intention to project the view that dressing provocatively might want to be a blameworthy aspect in any rape. (you comprehend, like, make each day a "Slutwalk.") yet it truly is only my own hypothesis. Radical 0.33 wave feminism only isn't an reported aspect.
