americans usually think of themselves as superior to other nationalities because we have such a vast amount of wealth and our standard of living is so high. American culture can be summed up in one word "big". America is made up of so many integrated cultures and this is what makes it so great. Being a nation of Protestant values, America looks upon the Muslim religion as being radical and also does not tolerate other radical religions.

Why so people keep judging americans "as a people" or worse, by the worst of our population? I'm not racist period. I'm not saying that like it's the in thing to say, I mean it. I just don't care if someone is black, white, middle eastern or anything else as long as they are decent people. I'm pretty sure that there are ignorant small minded people in other countries, but you never hear these kinds of questions about china, russia, or britain. It gets more than a little tiresome. I do not believe that Americans "as a people" are more racist than other countries, we just have more races mixed together here in a lot of cases, so it may show more. And the population of almost any country would be biased against people that appear to be the people that they are at war with. That doesn't make it right or even excusable, but it is reality.

alot has to do with the media, But we as Americans are very stupid sometimes. When we get scared we say thing that we do not mean. Most Americans do not get or want to look for the hole truth, we just get things from our friends, so if they say it we think it must be true. The problem with being free to do what ever you want, is we forget how to be nice sometimes, I'm sure you are a good person, but some stupid American that was closed minded said something stupid. Sorry we are not all like that.

You're putting a big generalization on americans I'm afraid...
Not all of one nation is racist... just like you say not everyone in the middle east is a terrorist.
If every other country had freedom of speech like we do, you'd hear them saying and doing the same things.
sigh, as always, my answer if the best...

Oh we're racist? Possibly, at least as much as anyone else in this world of morons, but at least we can ask coherent questions that make sense and don't use language below a 2 year old's level. FYI try Hooked on Fonics, works for most incredibly dumb people so you can take a shot at it

I have travelled extensively in Europe and elsewhere. I can tell you from my experience that most Americans are a lot more open minded on race issues than the people in most other countries.
The main difference is that we are willing to discuss it. In other places, they just pretend it doesn't exist.
And, other than OK City, which terror plots the last two decades were homegrown?

I think its not that their racist, it just that the media shows only one side or re-enforces the image that mid-eastern countries have fanatics, and they fail to show the culture that for the most part is very peaceful.

Everyone hates the guy on top, its our nature we always put down the guy who's in charge. In Americans eyes, one bad apple does really spoil the whole bunch.

Why, as a person, are you so prejudiced against Americans? I think YOU are a racist for lumping all Americans together. I'm reporting you for your racist question.
