Take a look at the site below and then if you have a sewing machine get yourself a very simple sewing pattern and go for it.
Go to walmart or some place and buy easy sew pattern. The lady will be able to tell you which kind to get. She will let you know what kind of material and all the stuff you need to make the out fit. Get one that just uses plain cotton or make a easy blouse to start with. Good luck.

look for a learning annex or adult classes they may offer classes on sewing or try sewing machine shops or fabric stores
