Its because Americans think everything revolves around them really....

Not to offend anyone but if you ask Americans about world issues of 10 yrs to now some don't know because they live inside their little box and don't want to know somethings that wont affect them.

If you ask someone here on yahoo they probably know since whats the point of answering questions if you don't know what half of the people are talking about!

But also because they have kind of always thought to be a superior race because of how their country is runed!

America is the greatest source of good in the world. If you think China and Russia are so great go live there and then you can be happy, or wish for the rest of your time on earth that you were in America. I don't understand where all this hate of America comes from. What makes people so unhappy about America freeing people all over the world? We don't take them over - we free them. The rest of the world should appreciate America before it is too late for them, if America is ever destroyed by the evil ones in the world. Lots of people don't realize a good thing until its gone. I hope you will not be one of them.

GREAT question, but listen to the answer very carefully. The US almost does, or should own the world. Look at world history. If it weren't for Americans France, England and many other parts of the world would be speaking German. No brag, just facts. It was intestinal fortitude and fighting for democracy and freedom that allows many nations to exist as they do. History has proven that America has kept the free world free. Why do you think so many people from all over the world want to move to the US? It is because America is the land of opportunity, and without us those who oppose us would not exist. Being beligerant toward Russia (Ronald Reagan was the catalyst in tearing down the wall in Berlin) is a way to show that we refuse to be intimidated. To not show force shows weakness and Russia and China would be all over that. Maybe we do not run the world, but we definitely have a big piece of it.

It's quite funny how people can be so ignorant and simple minded. Let's not forget that we live in a free world today because of the United States. Apparently the United States is the only country willing to stand up on it's own face to face with the countries that oppose a threat to the free world. When a country or it's people are in trouble of losing their freedom, or being turned into communism, or are in threat of a terrible dictatorship (such as saddam hussein) you dont see those countries running to any country in Europe or anywhere else in the world asking for help first. It's always the United States of America in which they turn in a time of need. Not all Americans feel they rule the world, but the truth is that America and it's people have one of the biggest impacts ever in the world. And for that reason and the reason of us being such a great nation in which countries turn to in a time of need there will always be jealous simple minded people out there such as yourself!

it's because we are the richest country in the world. Russia is broke. and china has allot more problems than we know. we don't think we run the world our money moves the world. that's why the European union was formed to compete with the American greenback. i don't see Russia or china picking a fight with the U.S.A. any time soon. so put the big H on you chest and handle it. AMERICA RULES. and as far as just putting up with America they have no choice or we'll turn their country into little America, who ever it is. everybody says they hate America but they love American money the fact is America is supporting half the world. if we pull our money out the world crumbles. so suck it up and create your own economy if you don't want uncle SAM meddling in you affairs.

Scott, honey, this is not the playground. If you suck up to the bullies there, maybe they won't give you a wedgie. But when dealing with the grownup world, it doesn't work that way. Clinton tried that and all it did was cause numerous attacks on the US and US interests abroad. It also gave the terrorist time and motivation to escalate their activities. Which is what Bush inherited. The reason you (and many like you) didn't notice is because the liberal media didn't make a big deal of it. Bush says "sh*t" and it's all over the media, but Clinton gives advanced technical information, that could be used against us, to the Chinese and nothing. Maybe he was afraid the Chinese wouldn't like him?

We are not attempting to rule the world. In essence our economy is so powerful that it reacts to the events that occur throughout the world. Therefore it is in our (the country) interest to attempt to affect the outcome of the events that unfold throughout the world in ways that protect our interest or to complete the argument, our economy.

Notice how we really don't care that much about the dismal atrocities that occur in Africa everyday. However, we do care if such events occur in a land rich with oil. Or at least it seems that we care. It actually just gives us a good excuse to establish a dependable government that we can count on to trade with us.

Why do you lump all Americans in with the American government? Our president has around a 33% approval rating, which means approximately one third of our country agrees with what he does. So to say that all Americans "act like they rule the world" is factually incorrect. Most of us would rather not have anything to do with the rest of the world, i.e., we would rather not be sending cash to other countries, spending our military's resources to fight wars for Israel, etcetera.

Ahh yes more American criticisms - BUT the rest of the world is the first to cry and demand American tax dollar donations at any natural disaster that occurs. Talk about biting the hand that feeds. But fear not - we Americans are compassionate and forgiving and will always provide our dollars even when the majority of a culture hates us.

Because we do Scott. You know we do. You wish we didn't.
And there's nothing anyone can do about it. Ha ha just kidding.
Actually they don't, there just has to be a bad guy in the world and the media and asshole celebs like George "the gerbil jockey" Clooney make it alright to put that target on the U.S.
Even if we didn't get involved like what's happening in Israel everyone would complain about that also. All politicians are butt holes and the media is mostly liberal celebrity ***********!
