It depends on a LOT of things.
1. Time of day - people will pay you less to watch their kid between 4pm and 8pm on a weekend. Now if it is a Fri or Sat night, they will pay more.
2. Duration - hourly pay goes down with the number of hours. Your pay might be $25 to watch 2 kids from 8pm - midnight on a Friday night, but only $40 to watch the same kids from 8am - 5pm on a Tuesday.
3. Age of the kids - the smaller the kids, the bigger the money
4. Number of kids - rule of thumb is 50% for each additional kid. So if it is $5 an hour for one kid, it is $7.50 for two, $10.00 for three, etc.
5. Your references. I'll pay more for a dependable sitter who does not allow the kids to run wild, tear up the house, eat gallons of ice cream, and stay up til midnight

Sometimes you may just have to haggle with the parents. Throw out a number 10% higher than what you want, then they can talk you down a bit and you don't get taken advatage of. Never settle for less money then you are worth, that is a bad thing to start. Then if they refer you to their friends, those people will pay you low, too.

No, it really is about $6 an hour, it really is more suitable than I made gazing 3 little ones (8, 4, and 9 months) for 8-10 hours an afternoon very last summer season. My concern replaced right into slightly diverse, inspite of the actuality that; the female I sat for did not have a lot interior the way of money. i imagine it really is okay as long as you at the prompt are not appearing as a nanny and taking those little ones places or figuring out to purchase them issues.

well it depends on how many children and your duties as the babysitter...but i would say 7 or 8 $ per hour per child a day...but of course that could go up if you have more duties or if they child has special needs

I pay $6 an hour for a teen to watch 2 girls. No diapers to change and both can take care of their own potty needs. I pay bonuses based on day and time also.

The going rate for babysitting is $10.00 an hour, but depending on what you do with the kid/kids and their age/ages you could get more or less.

Minimum wage. Babysitters basically watch T.V. and raid your fridge, while your child sleeps and does nothing.
