I think Chicago and Carolina will be the two top teams in the NFC this year. Chicago has returned all 22 starters, added to the defense in the draft, and added Ricky Manning to help out the secondary. Grossman is back healthy, and contrary to some opinions, he DOES have NFL potential. He is not just the usual Florida QB; the kid has got a serious arm. And if he goes down again, they've got Griese to back him up. I'm not a huge Griese fan, but with the running game Chicago has got, he's more than capable of leading a productive offense. Add that to the best defense in the league, and Chicago has a chance to dominate this year. The only problem I see is if the Jones/Benson situation blows up. I personally feel Jones should be the starter until Benson shows that he's better. I'm worried not only about any in-fighting between them, but about the almost inevitable RB-by-committee that's going to be used. I think it will be a detriment to both of them if they end up splitting carries, but I know they're not going to let Benson sit on the bench for much longer. As long as that situation works itself out though, I think Chicago is in for good things this year.

The Bears will hibernate again.
Grossman isn't an NFL quality quarterback and the Bears offense has been as traditionally horrible as the Vikings defense has over the past 15 years.
The Vikes are going to win the division provided that Johnson doesn't fossilize on the field. Robinson and Williamson, and Wiggins are great for the West Coast style offense, the offensive line is very solid the defensive backfield is all-star calibur, and the defensive line is going to explode.
The only real concern are the linebackers and the halfbacks. Otherwise, the Bears are going play in the regular season like they usually play in the playoffs.
To put it in perspective how well they do in the playoffs, Kevin Williams and Mike Vick were in middle school the last time the Bears won a playoff game.
As for the rest of the North?
Lions: They've been in rebuilding mode since 1998. Talk about a cursed team.
Packers: As much as Viking fans are afraid of Johnson fossilizing while playing for the Vikes, Packer fans are afraid of Favre turning to oil and Cowboy fans are waiting with their oil spigots.

Now that the Bears have hired Yukko The Clown of The Howard Stern Show as their new G.M. they should win at least 10 games this year.

They have a strong D. If Grossman stays healthy the O gets better. And their division has to be the weakest in the league, I say they are division champs but past that there are better all around teams in the NFC...Seattle and Carolina for sure.

Grossman needs to deliver. Period.
Secondary needs to be tighter - we all remember Charles Tillman's slip-slide against Cinci last year.
I hope the LBs continue to make trouble and the D-line stays aggressive. They're ability to bliz and free up the LBs was one thing that made the defense great.

If their Offense can score more than the usual 4 pts a game, they could do well. They have a great defense, all their QB's are terrible
