Here is a random search of houses for sale in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland. The prices seem to be pretty high.

Not much....dunno about rural Ireland or other cities, but the average house price in dublin is €395,000 (abou $495,000)....my own house is worth €350,000 and its a small 3 bedroom 1 bathroom house in Tallaght...I love it, and I love Tallaght, because I'm a down to earth working class type of girl...but it wouldn't be to everyones taste. I really don't think you could get much for that money at all...maybe a derelict cottage in rural ireland or something, or a site to build on????
