Unfortunately, some parents do. I was raised similar to that, I was allowed to have black friends at school, but not good friends that I could invite over or go to their house. I really despised my dad for his attitude about other races (he feels the same about Mexican, Asian, etc.). But even though I was exposed to such racism growing up, I am alot different than he would have wanted me to turn out. I've dated men of other races, and my daughter is biracial. Ultimately it is up to the person when they grow up. You can raise a child a certain way, but it doesn't guarantee that the child will be what you raised it to be. I am trying to raise my children to have open minds and be more accepting of the differences in society. So far so good, lol.

Regardless of ethnicity or cultural heritage only racist people try to raise their kids to be racist. Obviously, if you were dating a son of a racist family, those views were at least lessened with that generation. Even if he was dating you just to spite his parents, that's a step in the right direction...(albeit not the most ideal one).
I know caucasians, blacks, Indians, Arabs, asians and hispanics that have racist views.
I hope that in my lifetime I will see all prejudice eradicated. I know I'm trying hard to do my part. All you can do is interject your opinions when possible with out hatred or you can become as bad as those against diversity.

Not all white people do that. My family raised me to believe we're all equal, and don't judge someone based on the color of their skin.
I mean honestly, if you look at people of any race, what race doesn't have bad people? But all races have good people too. It doesn't matter what the person looks like, we're all the same deep down.
It saddens me when people do this. Honestly, if you look at someone under an X-ray, or an MRI, you don't see a difference... their insides are the same as ours. Cultural differences might exist, but that just makes us more unique.

I don't think people deliberately raise their children to be racist. It's just that their behavior toward others. When their children saw their parents act certain way, they believe that it is the right way to act toward others. Since every parent is once a child, their behavior today reflect the behavior of their own parents. In order to change this negative behavior that goes on for generation, people should learn more about other culture and society, not just the one that we are comfortable in.

As a child (and white), my mother would tell me that people dating outside of their race wasn't a good idea because it could lead to arguments over cultural differences. So yes, some parents do.
However, years since then, she got a divorce and even dated a black man. So, obviously, her opinion changed when she realized how silly she was.
If people have a problem with it, they're misinformed and, well, stupid hicks.

Seems like the same thing occurs in black families also.. or any other race.. is just human nature, to make themselves feel more superior. Is actually the result of insecurities. The same reason people have to shape God in a human form...

Do black people raise their kids to be racist?
Parents have considerable influence over their children.
So, YES is the short answer.
BUT, once they find out how similar all humans are to one another, how wonderful we all can be, the parents lose out in credibility, as the kids question what ELSE were they taught, that were total lies and deceits?

The very question about 'white people' as if all were of one mind is, in itself, reflective a prejudicial attitude on your part. I am sorry to see that there are still people like this person in a world that has so many different people in it.

Parents of all races want the best for their kids!
From experience, they have learned that a serious relationship between people is less likely to fail with those of the same race, culture, social standing, etc.!

I don't think white parents raise their kids to be racist to any more extent than other races do...but ,yes, some parents (of all colors) do raise their children in racist ways, or other forms of bigotry such as religious or ethnic intolerance.
