Well, recessive genes. How else?
*** edit***
BTW, even scientist believe that all humans alive today descended from a single human female. Ask the biologists how that happened.
..............................
Mitochondrial Eve ('mt-mrca) is the name given by researchers to the woman who is the matrilineal most recent common ancestor for all living humans, from whom all mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) in living humans is descended. Mitochondrial Eve is the female counterpart of the Y-chromosomal Adam, the patrilinear most recent common ancestor.
She is believed by some to have lived about 150,000 years ago in what is now Ethiopia, Kenya or Tanzania. Her age is calculated based on the molecular clock technique of correlating elapsed time with observed genetic drift.

How do you know that Adam and Eve were white? Chances are the were not white biblical text and the stories in it all take place in the Middle East. The next time you look in the bible see how many times Europe is mentioned you just don't hear about to many white people.
This is yet another another thing the Bible doesn't really get into and another reason I can't take it literally. Skin color is just an adaptation that humans have made to deal with the sun which is why you see people with dark skin in really sunny places. It is based on the same reason that you get a sun tan when you go on vacation the darker your skin is the better it protects against harmful UV rays.

This is the kind of question I used to ask my Sunday school teacher. You're catching on to the truth. Supposedly, the bible holds ALL the answers, but it doesn't explain how the various races came to be. And that, of course, is because the story of Adam and Eve is a myth that had been around for thousands of years before the bible was written.
Isn't it funny how Christians use EVOLUTION to explain the changes people underwent as they "moved apart" and lived in different places?

As people spread apart to live in different places, their bodies changed (evolution) and developed more or less pigment in their skin based on the environment they lived in. Hotter places with more sun exposure, people became darker, colder people with less sun were whiter. Also, it was due to breeding. . . the darker the parents the darker the children. Different combinations of parents resulted in different skin tones.
Another way to look at it is the tower of babble. Its a Christian story saying that all the people of the world got together (this is a young earth and not a huge population of people) everyone still looked alike and spoke the same language. Anyway, they all got together to build a tower so tall that it would reach the heavens and they would be as great as god. God seeing this, cast the people all over the world, changing their races and languages in order to keep them from working together in this way. You may want to check the details of this story because it has been a long time since I have heard it.

If you keep reading the Bible you will see that there was also a time when angels got together with human women, that might be a possibility, we don´t know how many races angels have.
Quite honestly that is why I don´t believe in the Bible, if you keep reading it keeps bringing some really weird stuff.
But if you go for the scientific, proven truth, it is all about evolution of species, adaptation to climates, and changes of habitat throughout millions of years.

The Garden of Eden is a fairy tale for children because it's too hard to explain millions of years of evolution to 3 year olds.
Once you get a little older you stop believing in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Adam and Eve.
Humans have been on the planet for millions of years and during that time they evolved to be all kinds of colors, shapes, sizes, etc. God made everything on earth, but it didn't start with a fairy tale garden thousands of years ago. And then God made evolution so his plan would be carried out.

Removing Adam & Eve from the equation, humans migrated to different regions of the earth. Europeans went to a climate that was balmy, cold, and lacked sun... hence their immense amounts of hair and their complexion. The same goes for Africans. A lot of sun and heat = darker complexion and less hair, etc...
They continued to move East until some situated in Asia, and the Americas... It's simply adaptation to enviroment...

I believe that the coming about of different races had nothing to do with the creation of adam and eve. In the bible, there were people who tried to build a temple to the top of the sky because they wanted to reach and touch God. God was not pleased with this and he struck down the temple . He punished the people and scattered them all over the earth . It is also stated that God gave them different languages to speak so that they couldn't communicate with each other. What it the possiblity that when God scattered them all over the earth that their bodies adjusted to different temperature climates? It has been seen through science that animals and people adjust to different situations and enviroments differently. It has also been seen through science that people are shaped by their enviroment. God never labeled them with a race or skin color when he created them. (?!)

say adam and eve were white. i believe that the different races came about by living in certain areas and adapting to the weather and climate. africa sees a lot of sun and its very hott therefore they would tan and become darker and darker colors release the heat faster than lighter colors so maybe thats how they are so many races.

Please sit down and brace yourself:
Adam and Eve aren't actual real people. They are characters in an old bible story, created to teach you about right and wrong, and keep you in line...
So they don't really have a race. In fact, the whole notion of race is just a shorthand we use to quickly lump culture and geography together. There is no biological trait as race.
