Will being on or near your period affect your Pap smear?

I am going for a pap smear soon and am due to get my period around the same time. Will this affect my pap smear?

yes they dont want you to be on your period when you have a pap because it can affect results.

If you're on your period it can obscure the results. You should reschedule for the week or so after it's over.

If you will be on or find you are on your period call and reschedule your appt
