There has been a big debate as to whether Ken Lay faked his own death (Machiavelli), or if he is still alive. I believe that he actually had a heart attack. With the Enron scandal going on and the possibility of spending so many years in prison and the restitution he would have had to pay, it's not really shocking that he may have actually had a heart attack...but on the other hand...knowing all of this...it could be possible that pretending to die was an easy way out for him! The government can cover up anything for the right price!

I believe that there were things he could have done to prolong his life that he didn't do - and the reports kind of bear that out. It was a choice.
