Many people hate math. But once you get past high school you don't have to deal with it anymore if you don't want to. However, there are too many things in this world that use math for you to call it stupid.
For example, the very computer you're using uses some complex math to run and process data. Are you saying that's stupid? Because math helped people invent these things. Considering how you're talking, I'm going to guess you're quite young. You only have to deal with math for a short amount of time, and then it's pretty much over. So while it may frustrate you, you should still appreciate what it has done for science and technology. Math is not for everyone, but it's essential to modern development.

Suppose you're at a store buying multiple items priced 79 cents, 69 cents, and 59 cents. The clerk rings you up and charges you $2.37. How do you know whether you've been cheated by an "error"? The only way is to know how to do the math! Other examples are more complicated than this.

Do you feel better now that you have that out of your system? I won't lecture you on how you will always use math throughout your entire life. I won't remind you that if you don't have basic math skills, your employer could cheat you out of pay that you've earned. I certainly won't talk about how most of the world would not be able to function without math. Oops, sorry. Guess I already said it. Now that that's out of the way, and you're feeling better, get your homework done.

I don't hate math! I like math! Because for the homework, each question has a right answer! I can get the right answer! It isn't based on some stupid teacher's prejudice and whim!

I like math better than most subjects. Think about it:
Psychology is completely random.
English "i" before "e" EXCEPT.
Science, why did my experiment fail.
Math, 2+2=4 period, every time, all the time, with no exceptions.
And, you will use it every day, you will buy things with money, you will balance a check book, you will help your kids and the list goes on and on.

Math can be really great: the way people teach it, on the other hand, is a disaster.
I always liked math. I'm sorry it's causing this much angst.

Oh stop whining. Math is good for you. It helps your problem-solving skills and if you become good at it, you can really impress people. But other than that, do your d*mn homework
