are car salesman bred differently?

Question

I have never had to deal with cars salesman until the last week and I think they come from a different breed of people. Does anyone agree? Can anyone suggest any ways of dealing with them cause I know everything the say is bullshit, including "I'll get you the best deal possible". How do i REALLY know if I am getting one? I have called several different places looking for the specific vehicle (2006 chevy colorado crew cab 1LT 4WD)... I wish I never had to deal with them!!! They are like sharks! Help!

I understand they live off commission, that doesn't mean you can't be straightforward with someone. There are plenty of jobs out there that you don't rip the customer off. and when i said they are like sharks, that is cause when i visit a lot, i get accosted by 10 different men throughout my browsing.... but that may be just cause I'm cute... haha

Consumer Report magazine has a good explanation on how to deal with car salesmen in their yearly car edition. You can get it at the library. They are a non-profit organization. Their website is also useful.

They are not like sharks really just understand their side.

They have a very difficult job and they live off commission!.
That stinks, Everything they do for an income depends on how many cars they sell, How many people comes on the lot, The mood of their sales manager, The customers credit which they will lie about and watse a lot of their time on and the economy.

Until you've laid in another bed don't complain about it !.

buy a used car from a private person, you may have other problems, but at least you are not dealing with a car salesperson.
Also it will be a lot cheaper.
