Just want to know what your opinion would be, say I was working on a new album which in my opinion is gonna be great, it's gonna be an event when would you say would be the best time to release?
I'm sure it will be completed for the end of this year, aiming for like a April/May 2007 release, do you think this would be a good time, or would it be best to hold off waiting for advertising etc etc?

if I was releasing an album( which i'm not .)I think any time would be ok
but I would avoid christmas when they have too many released and your album could get lost in the rush.
i always thought a single got released first to advertise the album maybe that was in the 80's but it makes sense to me test waters with a single then if its popular get the album out.

I'd say probably at the very beginning of summer, maybe May or June. If you planned to go on tour or just play a few shows, summer is a great time for that. People are out of school or college, they might be working and have a little extra cash. Sounds like the best time to me.

Any time, but release it along with printed advertisments on the newspapers or on TV, so people would know about your album.

I would release ASAP, the best advertising is word of mouth...get the music in as many people's ears as possible.

Shoot for early April if possible...too doggone much stuff happening in May. Early April, it will have a chance to get some attention.
