Well, my girl friend talked me into letting her wax my chest and stomach. When I woke up this morning it was red and very tender and bumpy. Im going to Florida in a few days and want to know if there is anything to help get rid of the redness and bumps.

Usually those are from irritation. It only lasts like a couple of days and then it's gone. It should be gone before you go to Florida. See what us girls go through to make you men happy?!? If they don't start getting better and they look like little infected bumps like pimples, applying a toner (astringent) like Sea Breeze for Sensitive Skin can work.

It will almost certainly go away by the time you go to Florida. I'm assuming the pain is gone by now; if not, use ice packs or cold compresses. For the bumps for now, your best bet would be azulene oil, which is soothing moisturizing oil used in Brazil. You can get it at Walgreens or any other drugstore near the hair removal products. Or, if you don't want to buy anything, you can use baby oil for an almost-as-good result. PS You are awesome for letting your girlfriend do that.

Hi,
I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acne problems. According to me Red and white pimples are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria.

In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.

Babypowder/Talc is often used in saloons immediately after waxing to soothe the redness.
Avoid oily stuff cause it often makes more bumps. Keep it dry or use a lotion with little grease. Vaseline Intensive Care with Aloe Vera is soothing or a good After Sun lotion. Don't mess too much with your skin now; no peeling and rubbing!
If you use Tea Tree oil, be sure you're not allergic, cause that stuff is strong!

put lotion on after taking the bath (you are supposed to do that after waxing~i hope you knew that because of the honey and stuff on the wax).

but if you didnt take the bath/shower then take one now. then add lotion (i reccommend the one for dry skin).

if you did take a bath but didnt put the lotion on then just do it now.

First time waxers is always a pain but after a while you know what you are doing.

i read what others were writing i reccommend not to use ice because it usually (in the stomach and chest area especially) makes the bumps bigger than slowly makes them smaller (3-4 days) but i have only tested this in my legs. never waxed on the stomach and chest.

A couple products that you can try that work great for me are Zero Bumps by Sally Hansen or Bikini Zone. Both are made to get rid of bumps, redness and ingrown hair, regardless of whether it's from waxing, shaving, depilatories, etc.

Due to the cycles in a woman's lifespan, her skin is different than a man's skin. Specifically, women have thinner skin than men

If you get rid of from redness and bumbs, donot use it again

Well if you get a hold of an aloe vera plant cut a piece, cut out the spikes and then split it so that the inside of the piece can be exposed. Then rub the open part on the part that needs it, you can do this repeatedly and maybe you should do it in the time of the day when you're not going to step out of your house anymore.
Now if you don't get a hold of aloe then try ice.

Before I answer you should always exfoliate skin prior to shaving ok, your only solution for now is Tea tree oil with its' antiseptic, antibiotic proprieties, it's also an analgesic so it will help the pain or discomfort you are experiencing. Enjoy your trip to Florida, but dont forget to use high factor sun block, your skin is damaged and needs to be protected. Keep out of midday sun and wear chest covering when exposed to sunlight.
