I agree. You are at an age where you need some freedom in order to learn responsibility and to learn about the world and yourself. Unfortunately, becoming an emancipated minor is very difficult from a legal stand-point. You'll just have to find a way to convince your father to give you more freedom. Good luck with that!

The word is emancipated. Each state has different laws. You need to contact Legal Aid and ask.

No, I do NOT agree. YOU and YOU ALONE control your behavior. If you choose to be STUPID and go wild, it will be YOUR CHOICE and yours alone. You can also be on your own and be a responsible MAN. That means no drinking, no drugs, no sex before marriage, getting a job and supplying your own housing, transportation, clothes, food, etc without the help of your parents. It also means finishing your education (not a GED) and going on to college or into the service to make something of yourself.

CAN YOU DO THAT?

Emancipated is the word and yes you can when your 16; however, it depends on the circumstances and it really sounds like your justifications are a bit weak.
