it means you are off the hook,that thy have dropped the charges,you will no longer be prosecuted on the charges

If the main witness failed to turn up at court to give evidence more than once without a satisfactory explanation, Justice would not be served by continuing the case. It would therefore be 'in the interest of justice to dismiss the case'. Likewise, if it was shown that the evidence given against a person was insufficient to prove the charge, it would also be in the interest of justice to dismiss the charge.....................
