Do beauty magazines promote self asteem or is is all about anorexic models with clothes that only fit the clothes-hanger?

Both.

Not necessarily a good thing. And all for the same reasons.

A girl doesn't like the color of her hair. She changes it. Looks nice. A week or so later it doesn't seem natural, it doesn't fit your face, and you find your own hair color is next to impossible to match.

That's because you are one of a kind. Work with that. Don't let your looks be what drives you like fashions rule other peoples' lives.

Frank Lloyd Wright said; " Less is more. " Then again, some wiseguy might add; " Yeah but, if less is more, is enough too much? " Ha.

Everything in moderation.

iT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY
it is much easier to create cloth for skinny people but it doesn't mean they look great and they spend less material on it .
Save money on material and cloth looks good on skinny models so it will attract more people.
But when you see those girls in everyday life in regular cloth it's not always pretty.
So don't "go low" on your self esteem :) if you know what I mean

To me they sell a little of both. It's very contidicting. On one hand they say be who you are, it's what's in the inside that counts(stuff like that) & then on all of the ads are girls that look like they are starving themselves & that's supposed to be normal. So it's no wonder girls are getting mixed reactions & having such insecurities.

Depends on which articles/magazines you read.

It all depends on what magazine it is and what articles or advertisements!
