I donate clothes to the Goodwill all the time everything from gap to abercromie clothes I have donated. I have also donated to Platos Closet which I thought I would recieve for money for the clothes I took there. As far as purchasing clothes from either place; I think it is well worth your time and money to shop at those stores. However, the fact that Platos Closet is not close to me it is not worth the time and aggravation of going there to sell clothes. Also, there is a store called Buffalo exchange which is like Platos closet but only buys and sells high end clothing. GOOD LUCK!!!
Also: there is also a place called "Once Upon a Child" sell childrens clothes......

I think they are great places to shop, I go there all the time. I am pregnant with my second child and again do not know what I am having so it is way cheaper for me to go there to get good used clothes for boy or girl then whatever I end up not using, I just donate back!
by the way, are you from duluth, mn? or is there a plato's closet other places too?

I work at a Goodwill, and I've never owned so many brand name things in my life. Come on, Hollister and Abercrombie jeans for $6.99? Can't beat it! And to the above poster who said that Goodwill throws away 95% of the baby stuff - if it's things like car seats, playpens, etc. that they throw away, it's because they're not supposed to sell those things because of safety and government recalls. If it's clothes, then shame on that particular Goodwill, because my Goodwill sends all clothes that we can't use to a company that sends it over to third world countries.

I think I am glad I don't have to buy used stuff. However, I am a clothes horse and buy clothes all the time, hence me getting rid or things all the time, so I am sure GW has some good things, as I know I donate more than my fair share!

I have no problem buy used clothes. I have no problem with garage sales. Why would i want to spend $100+ on a pair of jeans that i can pick up for less then $1.00.

okay I use to like goodwill until my dad started working there. they throw away 95% of the baby stuff that comes in!! plus they charge up the A@@ for used stuff, like I went there to find a Collared shirt for my nephew, it was for a school thing, a costume, and there was one there for 5.99!! WTF I got a BRAND NEW ONE at walmart for 6.99! 1 dollar more for a brand new. there do that all the time over charge for used stuff.
