Last night my girlfriend and I were watching TV and she just randomly breaks down crying. This never happened before. She wouldn't tell me why when I asked. I don't think it's something I did. All I could get out of her was that she had alot going on and alot to think about but she didn't say what exactly. What do I do if this happens again. I love her more than anything and she feels the same about me. I hate seeing her upset. How can I help her and make things better if she gets over stressed.

Don't try to fix what happened. For some reason guys always feel they need to fix everything. Just pull her close to you and wrap your arms around her, kiss her forehead, wipe away her tears, tell her you love her and that it's going to be alright. Also, if shes really hysterical try sitting down with her and rock her gently in your arms. When a guy does that for me it always makes me feel safe. Just help her calm down by holding her. This also helps strengthen the bond between you two by establishing a deeper emotional connection. All she really needs is a shoulder to cry on and that usually works.

Sean, there are times when all you can or should do is to either hold her - hug her, take her by the hand or cry with her. Here is why. Sometimes there is no sense to a guy why a gal cries. But you know what, she is fearfully and wonderfully made and we guys need to be there to appreciate her. Cherish that she will cry in front of you. If there is really a deep meaning to it, your silence will allow her to open up to you in ways that pressing for an answer would never do.

Well, if she says she doesn't want to talk about it. It's usually because she doesn't want to talk about it at that moment. She wants you to know, but it just makes her feel worse, so she'd rather cry about it a little and then leave it alone for a while. When it comes to comforting her, just hold her close and tell her you love her and you are always going to be there for her no matter what. Let her know that whenever she is ready and willing to talk about it, you will be more than happy to listen and help her through it.

You are a sweet man to be concerned for her. To comfort her you can sometimes just hold her in your arms, but if this is from stress then start doing things for her to unload some of the work stress at home. Run some bath water for her, massage her feet, or her shoulders. Just try different things to help her relax and hopefully she won't need to cry to release her stress.

Just hold her. That's always a good start. And, if it comes in waves, you know light sobbing to full out weeping, hold her tighter! And when she finally stops, then ask her, she may not even know what it's about! Girls are great because they are complicated! She might know what is up, and is afraid to tell you. (Like she wants to get married, or, maybe you guys need to!) Or she might just be, needing a good cry! Any way you look at it, if you show your strength, and patients and Love for her when she's feeling like that, she's going to respect that, and, you will be a super hero! Every guy needs to be a super hero for someone! I hope it all works out for you. Sounds a little sticky, and maybe a little frightening, just now, but you hang in there, things like this, teach us, so we can carry on. Peace! :)

As a woman, when I'm upset, I'd like to know that my man is there for me as a listening ear and that he's not judging me. Just be there to listen, hold her and let her know that whenever she's ready to talk, you're there. You may not be able to 'fix' the situation and that's ok, just knowing that you want to means alot. By the way, it's sweet that you are care enough to want to comfort her instead of running off. Best of wishes.

Comfort her by putting your arm around her when it's pur of the moment and you don't know what to do. I would suggest that when she is in a good mood and things are going well, ask her what you can do for her that will comfort her or make her feel better. Some people need to be left alone, some need to held, etc.

If she starts to cry again - I'd recommend encouring her to talk about what's going on. Stroking her hair or wiping her tears is thoughtful and might help comfort her. A hug or holding her is nice too.

I think just being there are truly listening to her is important. Making her feel safe to talk about things that are bothering her is important to have a successful relationship.

The best thing you can do is just be there for her, like a shoulder to cry on. Let her know that you care deeply about her, and want her to be happy and that you will try your best to keep her that way. Let her cry and be supportive. Sometimes we women just need to let it all out.

Well women are very complicated so get ready for more sporadic tears. If I were the one crying it would comfort me most if my boyfriend just held me. As simple as it sounds it really shows concern. Good Luck!
