I'm pretty sure that if you are pregnant ,that the pregnancy hormone your body produces will show up. If you are ready for a baby and are nervous about getting the shot, then wait another few weeks before you get birth control.

By the way, I reported Gizmo for being a racist pig. You should too.

If the test comes out negative but you still think you might be pregnant I don't think your doctor will give you the shot, why would you like to get in birth control again if you are TTC anyway? It is indeed to early to test, what I suggest you to do is cancel your doctor's appointment and wait 2 more weeks before you test again, then you should get a definite answer.

Why are you going on birth control if you are trying to get pregnant? It is not to early to detect the pregnancy hormone, If you are pregnant the PT will come back positive.

A blood test can pick up the pregnancy hormone 7-10 days after having sex, but I am confused. If you are trying to get pregnant why are you going on birth control, unless your hormones are out of whack?

If you and your fiancee' are trying to conceive than why would you get on birth control?
Whats the rush, wait until you get married and then start on your family.

To answer your question, yes, the doctor should be able to detect the HGN level. Explain to the doctor your concerns also.

Good luck
