You can learn Psychology by distance learning. However if you ever wanted to train as a counsellor or therapist, you would need to be in a learning group, on a course with a supervised work placement. Don't know about becoming a Clinical Psychologist, but would imagine being part of a learning group with work experience would also be important.

If you're a focused individual you can manage it. I'm a psych undergrad, just about to start my third year. You would benefit more from attendeing lectures and seminars, but if this is not possibe, learn however you can. Psychology is fascinating, and there are many areas, and many possible applications. Buy good books, and check out Psychology journals on sciencedirect etc.
You can do anything if you set your mind to it. Just don't get lazy 'cos it's distance. Another benefit if the classroom is healthy competition. Set yourself realistics goals and do your best to meet them and you'll do well.

I am self-home-schooled myself with AP Psychology since my school does not offer the class. Totally fascinating though it's sad to admit that I am not at all focus. So if you are a determined person then you should be good! Good luck!!

it depends on the class. statistics and tests and measures sucks to take online. I think the rest are fine. It is MUCH more interesting to sit in on a lecture but you can still gain a lot from classes on line. Abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, psychological theories are all very interesting classes to start off w/.

Did an introductory one by distance learning last year, was absolutely fascinating, if nothing else, I learnt so much about myself and how I related to those around me, that it helped, among other things, to change my life. Go for it.

psychology is pretty basic..if you decide to pursue this major, try dream interpretations or issues in counseling women.
