Why do women get offended when men are not called whores but women are?

As for the women, to be called a whore implies that they are dirty filthy streetwalkers. Not capable of fidelity. Same thing in reverse. WHY?

Its the double standard we have all grown up with. Because women get pregnant and the family has to support them so they keep the girls under stricter controls. We as women are held to a higher standard and then when we want sex, even safely, we are deemed sluts. There is a double-standard for women when it comes to sleeping around. Guys seem to gain respect when they sleep with a lot of women. They get called studs or players. Women, on the other hand, are seem as dirty and termed "sluts" or "whores".
