Italy prides themselves on all of their players coming from the Serie A, and with the recent news that Juventus and a few other teams might be bumped to the Serie B or C, that will create a lot of movement with players, probably to other leagues. If Italy wishes to continue choosing only players from Serie A, they will have trouble repeating, but if they branch out and play their best players from all over the world, they have a great chance to do it again.
Germany, with such a young talent, will be hard to stop as their maturity increases. Who knows what Schweinsteiger, Lahm, and the likes will develop into in the next four years. Their biggest potential loss, Ballack is aging and might not be back in 2010.
Brazil has a lot of age as well as a lot of future talent. Kaka, Adriano, and Ronaldhino have a lot of pressure coming up after such a poor showing. Who pulled through in the crunch for Brazil? The fat, out of shape, and hounded Ronaldo still managed to put in three goals and take the record. With the age moving on, Brazil needs key youngsters to step up. All in all, not my choice for 2010.
France looks as if its demise is around the corner. While Riberi looks to be a promising lead for the French in 2010, they lose too much experience and skill to age. Barthez, who shouldn't have even played in this World Cup, is gone with no one even having glimpsed a possible backup. Zidane, the captain, leader, and rejuvenator of the French in the second stage, is gone. So are the likes of Thuram, Makelele, and possibly Viera.
My bets are on the youth of today and the future of tomorrow in either the Germans or the Argentinians. Lionel Messi is coming of age and he is one force that no one seemed to know how to contain. Both the Germans and the Argentinians have high-octance offenses that won't settle for a one goal lead, and play exciting, well-coordinated football.

GERMANY!!! GERMANY!!! GERMANY!!! why? B/c after young team's experience in 2006, only a little portion of its aging players will be gone, and of course, they'll be much young ones coming along. Germany will be the hot pick for winning 2010 WC.
Brazil will be the number hot pick winning b/c some of their players are leaving, but the experiences can help the new ones.
forget France or Italy -- more than half of the team will be gone by 2010. Both team were the eldest comparing with other teams. France's avg. was 29 years old, while Italy was 28 years old. These veterans are going to set at home and just enjoy the games four years from now.

Germany. Brasil can't make a team effort (they have many good players who are too busy focusing on their individual fame), France is losing Zidane, and Italy is still having issues with their soccer corruption (and this was just luck for the 2006 World Cup!).
The Germans are very proud of their team even now, and I am sure that they will try even harder in 2010 to win the final!

its not about how many cups have been won in the past. the teams are different...very few of the players that helped brasil win their world cups are still there. so the numbers are meaningless...its all about the current teams.
the team that will win the world cup has to have young players with endurance, drive, and fresh talent. they also need to have enough older players with experience that can bring a team together. even more importantly, the team needs to have a coach who knows the strengths and weaknesses of the players and who knows which players work better with others.
with that being said, if argentina gets a new coach who works better with the team, i think they have a great chance of winning...but so do many other teams.
its impossible to guess at this point because we dont even know if these teams will even qualify.

I vote for the *other* young team, Argentina! With the right coach and lots of luck (meaning, no serious injuries that completely kill our chances of making it), Argentina can take 2010 by storm. Maybe South American teams don't do well in Europe, but we're not in Europe anymore! But I wouldn't grudge Italy or Brazil another victory, not if they truly deserve it (Brazil didn't this year).

Germany. They already have a strong team with a lot of young players that will only sharpen their skills. And Podolski is voted to be the best young player so I think there is some real potential here.
