I have had so many experiences with ghosts, and other paranormal things that I have considered writing a book. I had my first encounter when I was about 5 years old. Coming to Answers I have found that there is probably a market for this type of book. However, every time I begin to write I get the shivers. If I can overcome the fear, I will write the book. Then once the book is written, I will have to get a publisher to print it. I seem to have trouble coming up with a suitable title.
I have lived in four different homes in the same community over the years, and have had ghostly experiences in each. I live in one of those at present.
My town is rich in history with stories. The one that comes to mind offhand is a story my grandmother related to me. She said back in her day that gypsies had cast a spell on a 16 square mile block. She told me that stones would fly up all around her as she walked down the road. Being an honest woman, and telling the story matter-of-factly, brought me to believe her. The house where I came to believe in ghosts happens to fall in the perimeters of the gypsy spell.
Then there is the legend of Little Egypt. It also lies within the 16 block of the curse. Little Egypt is only a couple miles from where I live today. Therein lies a graveyard, with an ancient tree in one corner. They say you can see faces of the dead on that tree. A lonely dirt road cuts around three sides of the cemetary. Teenagers have been drawn to the place by whatever force that resides there. It is said that if you stop at each corner, turn the lights off then on again that once you round the last corner a black van will appear, without a driver. Your car stereo will become static, your car engine will die. It will chase you down, and if as it passes by, the driver of the van is you, you will not leave the place alive. Otherwise, the van disappears just as quickly as it appeared, into thin air.
I don't know how many people know this but in the northwest corner of a woods 1/2 mile further down the same road, are many old rusty cars. Could they be cars that were overtaken and captured by the phantom van?
This spring, someone told me they were back there and they found a full hide of a deer, left fully intact, but with no insides. No bones, no meat, no cuts whatsoever to the skin, as if it were sucked dry, from the inside out.

one of my favorite books, actually three of my favorite books.
1.Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
2. More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
3.Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones
To save you money, you can now buy all three books compiled into The Scary Stories Treasury.
the stories were collected from folklore and retold by ALVIN SCHWARTZ.
i love all the stories. some you will recognize. some will just gross you out, others will make you laugh. there are child friendly stories in there. if you are a parent it is always a good idea to preview the story just in case. i have the treasury and i pull it out to read a good story every now and then.
the best story is THE BIG TOE. it cracks me up. it's the very first story or it's close to the front.
the book isn't all that expensive. i got mine from waldenbooks for 7.99 on sale.

From Japanese mythology. They have some of the best frightening and gory ghost/demon stories out there--the ones meant to truly frighten, not just send little girls into a giggling frenzy during a slumber party.

Even i won't be able to believe what only occurred yet i changed into there and it occurred actual earlier my eyes. Its this style of shame i did not even regarded at him on the face the on the spot he entered the room. i comprehend its no longer as scary because it sounds yet fairly, actual comprehend the hairs on my pores and skin are status up. i can nonetheless keep in mind each and every thing, the shouting, screaming, each and every thing, each and every person changed into in marvel.

From books. Go to your local public library and look some up and check them out. Unless you have overdue fees, it should be free.
One of my faves that I often check out is "Roald Dahl's (Charlie & the Chocolate Factory) Book of Ghost Shories."
Classic authors would be Poe, Dickens, Guy de Maupassant and Henry James.
