I think it is funny that we claim people are equal, and should be treated equal under the law, and then create programs like affirmative action. Hypocrisy punches people in the face and they still don't see it. But as long as politicians can bribe people with affirmative action to buy votes, it will continue.
"Women and blacks needs affirmative action because they are not capable on their own" is somehow not considered racist.
"Affirmative action is not needed anymore, lets get rid of it" is somehow considered very racist.
We live in a very screwed up world.

You might want to check basic spelling before posting.
The question is oftne asked is a number of ways.
My answer is this: In a perfect world, where minorities were truly held equal and paid equal, affirmative action would not be necessary. Is it entirely fair? No. But it's something. It's a "band-aid" measure, it's not fair to everyone, and there are many people who oppose it, sometimes even those who benefit from it.
But it's something. Until we have a better solution, it has to stay. If it doesn't, we are just walking backwards into the horrible racism of our past. Affirmative action is a stepping stone, albeit a slippery one, to get us to a new era of freedom and equality.

Affirmative Action was a very good program when it began. If gave people the opportunity that they would not have normally been afforded. These was needed, I will conceded that. I do think it is a program that's time has come and gone. Now I believe the program is an insult to those who have worked hard to achieve equality only to be told the place in class or the job is theirs because they were the right mix.

Affirmative action is wrong because it means that someone who spells poor with only 1 o (por) might get special preference for being a minority and gain entrance into a university or a job because of it.

I just think that any program by the government that makes people unequal before the law based on skin color, that that program is wrong.
Holding people to different standards, or setting quotas based on race, etc, is wrong for a government to do.
It was wrong with segregation, it was wrong with Jim Crow, it is wrong going the other way. Even if it is allegedly to correct past wrongs by harming people who weren't responsible for that wrong.
And it has been shown that some of the programs actually end up harming those it was supposed to help. A professor did a study to prove the success of affirmative action in letting in lesser qualified minorities to law colleges. What he found was that lesser qualified people failed at higher rates and never ended up getting a degree or passing the bar at all, as compared to those same students going to law schools that better matched their academic achievement levels. Ooops! [see source #1]
Shall we even get into the incident at Rutgers, where the university prez got in trouble for explaining his liberal views? That's when the black students staged a sit-in on the basketball court and prevented a game from being played. Why? Because the liberal university president, in his support for the continued lowering of entrance requirements for blacks, said that they needed the lower standards because they weren't as smart as whites. Ooops! [see source #2]
However, I do believe in equal opportunity. My biggest problem is the abject and abysmal failure of inner city public schools, and the Democrats (and their teacher union masters) who will not let these poor people take their education dollars from the failing schools and send their kids to charter schools or private schools.

bogus. why should someone who is a minoiry get a job or enter a school with better chances than someone is isn't? those are called tokens or handouts. you get what you get and as long as you earn it, there;s not problem. I am a minority and despise affirmative action simply bcuz it gives those lazy and uneducated bums an excuse to complain about things they woud never ever be able to achieve even with someones help. it's the race card and it is used way too often for all the wrong reasons. if you want something dearly, you will do whatever is necessary to get it and will go through anyone or anything to achieve it. it's called determination and resilience.

Everyone who wants to go to a University to get a degree should be given grants and financial backing to do so.
Poor whites are smart enough to get into the University on merit and do so consistanly.
Poor ethic groups are as capable, but are working against the odds because they get shot before they get a chance. Literally. Case after case. Ethnicide.

There is no place in America for "poor whites"
Either your rich and Red or you will get outsourced.
Fact is by encouraging poor whites to eat junk food and not exercise. They will slowly disappear from America.
If you know any poor whites tell them to sit still and drink a nice cold soda.
