I do not personaly because its caused by a hole in the Ozone made by somthing, some say its carbon dioxide caused by humans, but i think thats not true because i think whats happening now is what happened to end the ice age, and men didnt cause that did they? NO THEY DIDNT. so i think whatever is happening is a mystery that we need to figure out before Al Gore makes another stupid movie about how the human race sucks. anyone agree? think about what i said before answering

No, it's not CAUSED by humans; I think human industrialization is contributing to the natural world and magnifying the warming trend (and deeply polluting our world). Earth will never be the same, it is in a constant state of change as we all know from the history we have recorded. Al Gore sucks.

First, I think you are a bit confused because the hole in the ozone (not really a hole but a lower concentration) is not related to global warming. The ozone layer helps protect the earth from harmful UV radiation. Global warming is influenced by infrared radiation.

Now that we cleared that up, I have looked at the evidence on both sides of this issue and have concluded that there is more weight on the side of the proponents of human influenced global warming. Despite what some would say, the solar variations and volcanic activity do not have as much of an effect on the amount of carbon dioxide and warming that have been seen since the industrial revolution as can be explained when you factor in human activity.

There are natural cycles of cooling and warming but the current trend appears to be heading toward a warming that has not been seen before and can't be explained by solar activity. There are also higher amounts of carbon dioxide than have been seen before and it is not explained by volcanic activity alone. Even when you combine these two factors, it still is not enough of an effect when compared to climate models that take human activity into account.

And just as an aside, some of the people who claimed the ozone hole was not real are now saying global warming isn't real. People are wrong from time to time so don't put too much stock into people's claims about current issues when they say scientists were warning us about global cooling a few decades ago and use that as part of their "proof."

The last global warming was 13,000 years ago, well before humans and their poluting ways. That global warming was followed by another ice age. Neither were caused by humans. And this warming cooling cycle has happened often througout the earths history. Find the causes and you will probably find a lot of the answers to what is happening now. For example:

Volcanic activity (emissions) around the globe can lead to prolonged period of cooling.
Solar activity can lead to warming.
Shifting continents can alter ocean currents and change weather patterns.
There are too many to list here.

Air pollution from humans may have some effect on the deterioration in the ozone layer. However, it is counterintuitive to think than the ozone layer is getting worse as we emit less pollutants into the atmosphere. There must be other and larger reasons for the change. The air and water are now cleaner than they were 30 years ago, and even 100 years ago.

30 years ago, everyone was worried about global cooling and all the so called "experts" blamed people and pollution. Now its global warming. Those same "experts" and their followers are still blaming people and pollution, even though things are much cleaning today.

What exactly do you think occured at the end of the ice age? You do know why we had the ice age don't you? There is unfortunately a lot of evidence that global warming is happening as a result of human activity. There is also evidence that the average global temperature has increased signifigantly more than it has ever increased EVER in the past. Last semester I was in an environmental science class and also in a meterology class. In Both of these classes I learned that Human beings are unfortunately directly responsible for globsl warming. FYI the whole in the ozone was caused by aerosol products which is why they are banned now...However, just because we no longer manufacter those products in the US does not mean that they are not being made in other contries. Also, global warming is a more complicated issue that simply ozone depletion. Also, we do have good news about the ozone. It is not depleting as fast as it was, and scientists believe that it may repair itself in about 70 - 80 years if we continue to protect it. CO2 and nitrates are the main causes of the greenhouse effect. In that area we have not improved and if someone in our government is finally going to take a step which might lead us in that direction....hey more power to them....because they are not going to be liked...because I will be the first to tell you I DO NOT WANT TO live without some of the things that they might want to take a way or limit. But in the long run it will be better for the future life of our children.

Global warming has NOTHING to do with the hole in the ozone layer. They are caused by unrelated pollutants. Ozone destruction is caused by CFCs. Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases like CO2 and methane.

CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater. These are two of the main pollutants humans put into the atmosphere in excess, and they are two of the primary greenhouse gases.

Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950 after a fairly stable climate for 1000 years. In fact, the 10 hottest years in recorded history have all happened since 1990, with 2005 being the hottest, and 2006 is shaping up to maybe break that record.
(see links below)

How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.

There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.

Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.

Just to be clear, glacial and interglacial cycles are mainly controlled by astronomical fluctuations, but we have a detailed record of the last 7 cycles, and what the climate and CO2 is doing now is way different and extreme. The rate of increase is much higher than in the past AND the value itself is much higher.

Global Warming is very much our fault the hole in the o zone that ended the ice age was very small at the time and had conditions stayed the same global warming would not be near as bad today but thanks to human introduced Clorofluorocarbons in such things as air conditioners and aerosol spray cans (made by humans) we have enlarged the hole in the o zone. HaHa you just got schooled by a 15 year old

I think Global HARMING is caused by humans. Take away the humans and the planet would be just fine. It is greed and ignorance that makes a person do whatver they want and not care about the long term effects...on the environment AND on the future generations. People need to grow past their self-deluded infantilism and make righteous choices for the good of all. As a collective we cannot survive unless we care...about something other than our own instant gratification.

Undoubtedly, we and our various pollutions had something to do with it, but I think it's far likelier to be a natural warming cycle. We know they happen, and that we are not that far out of an ice age. The last little bit could very well be nothing more than a brief recession in the cold.

yes humans have caused the hole in the ozone layer they proved it. The greenhouse effect. what else could it be? and there wasnt a hole in the ozone layer when the ice age ended was there? no, there wasnt, it happened after humans started to have more technology and cars and stuff.

Yah, lots of pollution and stuff. Why do you think some scientists part blame China? Cuz they pollute A LOT.
