Of all the things you know your govenment wastes money on, which is the one thing you think is wasting the most of your money and will never benefit you directl or indirectly?

Social security is probably the biggest waste, so I would choose to shut it down.
SS is the largest category of federal spending. It takes up $492 BILLION a year- more than defense spending. It's also unnessary and unConstitutional. I'll never need Social Security, since I will have private savings accounts which will pay much more than the government can....assuming SS is still around when I retire. Let people save money if they want, their own way, in more profitable ways. The government shouldn't force me to be prudent, especially when the government's way doesn't pay that much to begin with.
Though really, the program that makes me most angry is the National Endowment for the Arts. I can somewhat appreciate welfare when it helps the needy, but the NEA is just welfare for the rich. The NEA only makes up a tiny portion of the Federal budget, but it makes my blood boil that poor and middle-class tax payers have to subsidize art that will overwhelmingly only be enjoyed by the upper-classes. What's worse is that much of this art has rather controversial messages. Even if I agree with a message, it is wrong that someone who disagrees still has to pay for it.

Everything except what is spelled out in the Constitution. But if I could only choose 1, it would have to be Social Security.

Wow! Lots of intelligent here. I'd have to say hmmmmm, geez that's a difficult one. Nope, it'd have to be the IRS budget !!!!!
Do the flat or national tax, whatever, just cut the funding to the Infernal Revenuers Service!

gosh, I would love to have a list of the pork that get pushed through congress. We would see so much savings if we gave the president line item veto power.
