Humans are like sheep, and while this won’t win me many friends, I have to say that sheep are the dumbest animals on earth. A herd of sheep will jump over a cliff because they see one fall over the side. A sheep will watch another of the herd being eaten by a predator & not blink an eye. I am not making these things up.
And unfortunately, despite our potential mental ability, humans are lazy and so by and large are sheep. We slow down to watch someone getting a ticket or changing tire. And our pack mentality causes many of us to follow the leader. And that's the biggest problem - our leaders know this & take advantage of it.
Santayana said something that is widely misquoted - "Those who do not learn from the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them." But we don't - and as a result we are led into the same predictable situations over and over again. Including trends - look at the "retro" that comes up repeatedly during times of little cretaivity. Not surprisingly, they get the same predictable results. History does indeed repeat itself, because humans are sheep and will follow any leader who has the charisma to lead them.

Simple. Humans are a gregarious lot. They feel a great sense of comfort in sameness. They avoid criticism from their peers but at the expense of their individuality.
They will continue in this trend until another trendsetter concocts another idea, gimmick or whatever, that the gullible herd migrates toward....until another trend is borne.

Because alot of people think it is easier to follow something, because they do not want to be left out, its better to be a trend setter that to follow other people, to be your own person, and not worry so much if someone is going to like what you wear, it should be do you like it? I think half of the people would not even like it, if it wasn't something alot of people were wearing and cost alot of money.

I suggest that you continue to remain WHO you are...inside and out! Don't let the wannabees get to you...they're never going to disappear.
I too hate it when everyone tries to keep up with each other...it's too much work for me to try and be something I'm not.

Arpeggi!!!!! i changed into captivated with that song this morning. i can purely pay interest to it on my iPod, however, because my dad says it creeps him out. =/ Starlight is sturdy too, yet there are many more effective songs by using Muse. i do not fairly look after Falling Down, to be honest.

Sheep! They're all a bunch of followers... not leaders that can think for themselves. They are so insecure that they have to follow the crowd so as to appear "IN". They crave attention so as to fit in, and fear criticism.

BECAUSE THEY ARE FOLLOWERS INSTEAD OF BEING CREATIVE ON THEIR OWN. IF EVERYONE IN A GROUP WEARS GREEN THEN THEY WILL FOLLOW!
