I think being a landlord will give you more money in time. If you need quick money for more investing go for the land selling.

Buying and Selling Lands bring more money except when you build on a choice land that people are running after.

Renting can be a drain, depending on your tenants. They can wreck your place...And/or Not pay.

It's always been said one can never go wrong in Real Estate.
However, it depends on the market in your area.
