Hello..I am white and I live on the sea,so I am also fond of sunbathing.Every year I obtained a great natural tan, even many of my friends haven't believed that I can get such deep bronze tan, knowing that I am naturally white. That summer I am observing a phenomenon, I am exposing to the sun moderately as always and I have almost not visible effect..Any suggestions, why is that? I've taken beta caroten, eat healthy..Thanks

wow it is really weird because melanin is a skin pigment (substance that gives the skin its color). Dark-skinned people have more melanin than light- skinned people. Melanin also acts as a sunscreen and protects the skin from ultraviolet light. Melanin is produced by cells called melanocytes. It provides some protection again skin damage from the sun, and the melanocytes increase their production of melanin in response to sun exposure. Also you shoul be aware of the dosis you are taking daily for betacaroten, remember that a 20 mg daily dose for 5-8 years has shown to cause a risk of lung and prostate cancer. And yellow palms, face(carotenoderma), can occur if taken in high dosis... I would go and see a dr. things in time is definately helpfull.. Also, I know you must have herd this a lot but Skin follows a biological timeline, by decades of life. During your 20s and 30s, the first wrinkles start to appear and skin becomes less resistant as elasticity declines and gravity begins to take hold. In your 40s and 50s, repetitive movements form the first permanent wrinkles as genetics, gravity and a decrease in collagen and elastin cause skin and muscle to sag. The scrubs stimulates your skin's timeline to regenerate more often and it will help you with the dark skin. The rays from the sun: UVA and UVB.... UVA is the one that destroys your elasticin and collagen (the same ones that when we grow older they start the diminish the production) and this is what makes the 90% of aging signs and the tanning slons have these rays. Also the UVB is the ray that burns you and contributes to skin cancer. What you need are products that help you get protected form both rays and always try to avoid the SPF over 30 because these will cause your skin to get irritated. I use these great products that help me get a nice tan, they also have great sun protectors for everyday use and water resistant, and they also have a tan enhancer that makes your tan last longer....you could find them in this site, at the left margin look for BefoRE Sun and you will find them .... http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com (under shop online) the best part is that they have ingredients for anti aging.... wonderful...and the hair protectn is just divine because it also works like a detangler..... and you could also use the "chap stick" they have to protect and hydrate your lips .......

As soon as I read your question, I knew you were out in the sun.
(Didn't need to see the details.)

Don't you know the sun is TERRIBLE for your skin! Plus it is the leading cause of skin cancer in whites. (Earth is losing it's protective ozone layer, hello!)

You are going to F it up permanently if you don't stop sunbathing.

Use fake tanners or go natural - but keep out of the sun fool!

Stop now.
