No, they're not. They're both bad, but they're two different things. Hezbollah has direct ties to Syria & Iran and also has a political (non-military) faction. Hezbollah had been relatively peaceful since 2000 - until (through Iranian instigation) they took advantage of the Gaza raid to re-intensify the situation. They also did this to attempt to improve their popularity in Lebanon (big mistake), which had been waning since the assassination of their first democratically elected Prime Minister (Hezbollah took the Syrain side and paid the price for it). Hezbollah is centrally organized, and is therefore more easily fought.
Al-Quaeda is an unorganized "movement" with pockets all over the world. Many people call themselves "Al Quaeda" but they're just a group of anti-Western, uneducated young people who are trying to martyr themselves. They want to be part of the cause, but they don't necessarily take any orders from a central command. Osama bin Laden is mostly just a spokesperson. He doesn't really provide strategy. He's the motivator. Most agree that it was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed that planned 9/11.
Thus, no there are not the same thing just because they use silmilar tactics. Al Quaeda is nothing but terrorism. Hezbollah can disarm and reshape itself in a manner similar to the disarming of the IRA and its participation in politics in Northern Ireland.
If you think any of this means I don't support Israel, you're wrong. I think Israel is within its right. However, I feel that their moves will, in the long run, cause them more difficulties than a more restrained response would have.

No Hezbollah and Al Qaeda are not the same beast. Democrats that call for the end of Hezbollah also call for the end of Al Qaeda

I'm sure democrats want the destruction of Al-Qaeda as well. Just because they oppose the war in Iraq doesn't mean they don't want to destroy Al-Qaeda.
Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda are two different oranizations but they use the same tactics.

Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda are members of a united front against all who do not follow their radical sect of Islam. If you don't follow their lunatic fundamentalist Muslim beliefs you are committing sin and must be killed. This is why they are killing Cristian's, Jews and even their fellow Muslims.
As to the Democrats, they don't have a clue or just don't care. They are only interested in putting the Left back in power and if that means harming national security, then so be it.

No, but they are simalar in very many ways. They are both bad. They want hezbollah destroyed because they are the ones bombing isreal, (not the lebanese), and in turn, isreal is bombing lebanon back. Hezbollah is creating a war because in a unbeliveable "prophecy" they hold dear to them, it says all isrealis must be killed. Hezbollah started this war, and stopping hezbollah will end it.

Hezbollah is a Lebanese Shia Islamic militant group established primarily to fight Israel. Al Queda is an international fundamentalist Sunni Islamist group established to reduce outside influence on Islamic affairs. Both are considered terrorist groups and pursue militant terrorist actions to achieve their purpose. Learn more about each at wikipedia.

Why on earth might Al-qaeda choose Obama, whilst Obama needs us to pass away the Iraqi Civil conflict. Al-qaeda has reported in public their objective is to make the Iraqi Civil conflict bankrupt our united states of america, and that i'm sorry to assert they have particularly had some success. i ought to in elementary terms besides say; Vietcong for the Manchrian Candidate John McCain!

Not the same beast (if perhaps in the same vein of methodology and common enemies).
Al-Qaeda is founded on the tenets of Wahabism (a brand of Islam that has a stranglehold upon the Saudi nation and supplies the 'Koranic legitimacy' of Al-Qaeda operations).
Hezbollah exists as an evolution of the Shi'ite/Palestinian insurgency and response to the forceful establishment of the Israel state under UN auspices in the late 40's.
Speaking out against which war? (not sure what you're referring to). Democrats are doves, for the most part, or when they are hawks, they are chicken hawks (stealth, low impact, covert ops, etc. not open warfare).
Hezbollah's existence (as an armed appendage of Syrian/Iranian foreign policy in the region) is a direct threat to the existence of the state of Israel (Hezbollah states this plainly). Their 'destruction' would force Syria and/or Iran to do their own dirty work. Suspicion is that Iran wanted to deflect world attention on its nuke program by stirring the pot at the Israeli/Lebanese border. Well, the pot spilled over, and now even Syria and Iran are (in open circles) distancing themselves from direct responsibility for Hezbollah's actions. That being said, it is a proxy war, and will probably remain so (neither Syria or Iran are as anxious for all out warfare w/ Israel, as championed by Hezbollah).
Support for Hezbollah among the people within Lebanon, Israel and the Palestinian territories will be the key litmus test as to the group's survival (not necessarily Israel's ability to neutralize this faction). Already, Arab nations and Arabs within Lebanon and Israel and the PA controlled territories are expressing dissatisfaction with Hezbollah. Seems everyone is tired of armed conflict and wants this type of stuff to be put to an end (even if it's by the hands of Israel).
The beast you refer to is radical Islam, perhaps; a movement that generally sacrifices the personal will and body, for the purported defense of Islamic principles in the face of purported attacks against Islam. The severe detachment of this movement's various aims (with its subcategories of Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, etc.) from the reality of a globalized world is of obvious concern to Westernized societies who have no stomach for arcane warfare and brutality. It is of lesser concern to those nations (and perhaps their societies) who have recent experience (and perhaps indifference) with such methods (i.e., Russia, China, Iran).
The movement seeks to defeat Judeo-Christian strongholds in the world and replace law and culture with centuries-old Islamic culture (subjugation of women, abandonment of peaceful endeavors in favor of 'martyrdom' and control through marauding/terrorism/force, etc.) In the final analysis, the Judeo-Christian influence must be reasserted (perhaps even forcefully) against such low-level incursions (terrorist acts, insurgencies, proxy wars), in order to deter the full engagement of Islamic states directly (like Iran, Syria, etc.)

I feel the same way about this crap as I do about all of the crap. There are other ways of solving problems, besides military action. We really should exercise more restraint, and be an example to the world community. We used to be envied, we used to take the high road. Now, not so much
