Met guy at wedding from another state, we became friends and visited each other in our home states. He stated he wanted to relocate and move in together. We lived together for four months and then all of the sudden he said he did not want to be in a relationship and wa going back home. Reason being he missed his children, but they were at our home at the time.

Maybe he got scared.. i would hate to say he is using his children as an excuse to leave, maybe he is scared in where the relationship is going and is chicken to face the truth, you deserve the truth about the relationship and if he wasn't ready to commit fully why the move? idk, take this as huge sign and move on and find someone who is willing to give you there whole heart

There's nothing mysterious here. He changed his mind. You all broke up. Would you question this so much if he were some kind in the same state as you? People break up and people even break up without any warning signs. People change their minds. It happens. Would you have rather that he stayed and cheated or made you miserable because he didn't really want to be there? Chalk it up, get over it, and move on with life.

Maybe he realized he wasn't spending too much time with his children while they were there with him. I am assuming his children are in another state. If you are in love, would it be possible for the both of you to relocate closer to his chidlren? If so, tell him you are willing to do this. You need to talk about this and come up with a solution. Communication is key here.
