In my life war has solved alot of things...1. I am not a Nazi, 2. I am not a communist, 3. I do not pay taxes to the English Throne, etc. etc.
When Israel obeyed God and went to the Land of Canaan, for which God gave them, they had to fight at times...and God was with them!
We [believers] are to be peacemakers, like Jesus said, yet, to simply run out and join the closest pacifist movement is not consistent with biblical examples.
I think our notion of what is right and wrong with regards to war is not entirely consistent with God's understanding. Similarly, our notion of love is vastly different than the love of God. I think the notion of when to war and when not to war is complicated, and should be analyzed within a biblical context.
I know my grandparent's fought in WW2, and they were proud to do so. They did not start it, but ended it. They sacrificed greatly, and in my opinion, solved alot...there efforts were not in vain as some might lead me to believe.

Pretty fair commentary. I would only suggest that a biblical context is not the only basis for analyzing the need to go to war. A historical context (e.g., the rise of Nazism, Communism, etc) provides a good blueprint for the consideration of war as well. "Those who forget the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it." George Santayana

That war is more complicated than a segment on a news program is self evident. The reason why we have war can fill volumes and does, but in my opinion it all comes down to this: you have what I want or I want what you have and I'm willing to kill you to get it.

The interesting thing about that is that there is actually enough of everything in the world for everyone, but there are those who feel that they can never have enough of anything so when you add more to one side of the scale of necessity you subtract from the other side. We need to strike a balance, but I don't believe human beings will ever accomplish that because it would take a sustained global effort. That would require all titular leaders to agree on it and what would be their motivation to do so - Biblical love of their fellow humans? That is impossible - for men.

But if you read your Bible you know that it isn't impossible for God and they day will come when it will happen. Until then, keep the faith!

sure, they want an enhanced excuse. i'm somewhat getting unwell of the procedures which persons use to stay away from speaking approximately or explaining a controversy. between the procedures used is to assert, "you're taking that out of context," and yet another is to assert that somebody is a racist. those 2 issues are used lower back and lower back to kill communicate. Sharpton and Jackson are the two good for this. that is irritating and that i want that only whilst they could provide a on the instant answer whilst protecting those racist comments that have been made via Wright.

Of course, "war is not good for any living thing" as the old 60's saying went. But going to war is not entirely wrong:
~Suppose the leaders of the Thirteen Colonies decided not to war against England for independence...
~Say the North didn't retaliate against the South...
~Or we let the WW1 Axis dominate Europe with out going to war...
Get my drift?
