My husband won't stop snoring either. Try jabbing him in the side at night. You might want to tell him to try Breath Right strips but that only worked one night for my husband.

Sounds like he is a mouth breather by the drooling thing. Try shutting his mouth for him at night - may help with the snoring too.

Snoring is often a sign that a person has OSA or Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Sometimes that person will have other symptoms as well, daytime sleepiness, not feeling refreshed upon waking, high blood pressure, and etc. When a person has sleep apnea, they stop breathing at night. Sometimes this happens hundreds of times during the night.

He should discuss this with a Pulmonologist ( a dr who specializes in disorders of the respiratory system). If left untreated it can cause problems later in life. (stroke or heart attacks).

If the doctor finds a reason to suspect that your brother does have OSA, he will send him for an initial sleep study. During this study they determine if he even has OSA. If so he will return for a CPAP titration study, where they determine what pressure he needs to keep his airway open. A lot of times they do a Split night study (121 + minutes without anything and the rest on a CPAP) so the pt doesn't have to come back.

Hope the info helps....good luck

Yes he can go to his Dr and tell him about it. Ask to have the sleep study done. They will find out if he has sleep apnea. Alot of people that snore has sleep apnea. My bf was the same way and i took him to the Dr and had the sleep study done they put him on a sea pap machine that he wears at nite, it has drastically cut down his snoring. Another thing could be that the little thing that hangs down in the back of his throat could be to big and blocking his airway at nite, he can have surgery to have it cut down some.
