when i sleep i wake up with this real fast heart beat and takes an hr. or so to slow down, then i can't sleep for another hour.

see your doctor. get it checked out. irregular cardiac rhythm can be nothing to worry about, then again it could be something pretty serious. The fact that it happens upon waking could be of some concern.

if you can't trace the abnormal/increased rhythm to some form of exertion, go see your doctor. better safe than sorry.

You really need to go have a check up by a doctor. This could happen for a couple of reasons. And you may need medication or surgery to treat the problem. It's possible you could be having panic attacks but it is rare to wake up from a panic attack. Heart problems really aren't something to mess with. It sounds like a definite problem that needs medical attention. Without attention you could die.
